IFPA Membership Benefits & Entitlements

Professional Certification  Full members receive a sealed membership certificate and enamel badge.  Associate members receive an unsealed certificate.
Use of mIFPA suffix Entitlement to use mIFPA suffix after your name
Use of IFPA logo and branding Members are permitted to use the IFPA logo and branding on their websites, certificates and business cards, in line with the brand guidelines. Use of the IFPA logo on any product is strictly forbidden.
Right to register with Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council UK Full members are eligible to register with the CNHC, who are the UK regulator for Complementary Healthcare Practitioners.  General Medical Council (GMC) guidance confirms that doctors may refer patients to practitioners on such accredited registers.
Employment and Referral benefits Many of our members work in medical and respite settings alongside oncology teams, midwives, care homes and charities, to name but a few.  As a corporate member of the Research Council for Complementary Medicine and the Integrative Healthcare Collaborative the opportunities for employment and referral are wide-ranging.

Free listing on ‘Find a therapist’ page All full members may choose to be listed on our Find a Therapist search pages. (Please note that it is members’ responsibility to ensure their details are correct).

Access to the latest research and industry news As corporate members of the Research Council for Complementary Medicine and the Integrative Healthcare Collaborative, we are amongst the first to receive the latest research and industry news.  This is either communicated within the In Essence journal or, where required, directly to members.
Access to In Essence journal In Essence is our bi-annual journal, distributed to members worldwide.  The publication offers evidence–based feature articles, essential oil profiles, case studies, and the latest news about developments in the world of aromatherapy. In Essence is a valued and respected resource for professional aromatherapy practitioners.

Opportunity to join / form a Regional Group IFPA regional groups are a valued way of keeping in touch with other therapists. These member-led groups are many and varied but offer a support network for relevant questions or issues, a broad programme of events and activities that count as CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and referral possibilities from other therapists within your regional group.
Access to CPD Courses Many of our accredited training providers provide CPD courses in aromatherapy-specific subjects or complementary modalities.  CPD points may also be earned by conducting aromatherapy research or attending courses that enhance your skills in therapeutic relationships and business practices.
Right to attend IFPA AGM The Annual General Meeting is a lively opportunity for members far and wide to convene, discuss important topics relating to the industry and the running of the Federation, vote in new Board members, network and have fun.
Right to vote at the IFPA AGM Full members have the right to vote at the AGM to decide who sits on the Board of Trustees and have an input in key decisions affecting the Federation.
Preferential rates at Conferences and Seminars IFPA members receive preferential rates for industry conferences, seminars, exhibitions and workshops, enabling members to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the industry.
Social Media presence The IFPA has a lively presence on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. On Facebook, we offer both a public page as well as a member-only page.

Quinessence

Quinessence offers a discount to qualified aromatherapists and to students on a nationally recognised aromatherapy course. If you apply online for a trade account, you’ll need to send them a copy of your Aromatherapy Diploma or student registration letter for the application to be approved. Their trade prices are heavily discounted from their retail prices Quinessence sell their own brand products, but also have a wide range of other products such as books, CDs, incense sticks, etc.

Penny Price

Therapists, including IFPA members, qualify for a discount of up to 20% from Penny Price Aromatherapy. To be sent the unique code, therapists need to simply send a copy of their therapy training certificate.
