Teas, Infused Oils, Vinegars & Balms
Many aromatherapists feel a quiet pull towards herbs.
You spend years working with essential oils, getting to know their chemistry, safety, and personality in blends. At some point, it becomes obvious that the essential oil is only one part of the plant.
The plant itself contains many other constituents that herbal traditions have worked with for centuries.
Teas extract minerals and flavonoids.
Infused oils draw out fat-soluble plant compounds.
Vinegars capture trace elements and plant acids.
This course opens the door to that wider plant world.
Over two days, we’ll explore a handful of traditional herbal preparations that can sit comfortably alongside aromatherapy practice. Nothing complicated, nothing clinical, simply practical ways of working with whole plants that make sense within an aromatherapy clinic.
The days are very hands-on. You’ll taste herbs, blend teas, make infused oils, prepare a herbal vinegar and create a balm that combines herbal oils with essential oils.
By the end of the course, you will have a clearer understanding of how whole plants behave differently from essential oils and where these preparations can fit naturally into your work.
This is not a lecture course. Most of the learning happens through doing.
Across the two days, you will:
taste and compare different herbal teas
blend teas for simple client scenarios
prepare three infused herbal oils
make a traditional herbal vinegar
create a therapeutic balm using herbal oils and essential oils
handle herbs in their fresh and dried forms
You will take home the preparations you make during the course.
This course is designed for aromatherapists and aromatherapy students who feel curious about herbs. It offers a gentle introduction to working with whole plants in a way that complements aromatherapy practice. No previous herbal training is required.
This course introduces traditional herbal preparations for educational purposes. It does not train practitioners to practise herbal medicine or prescribe herbs for medical conditions. The focus is on understanding plants more deeply and exploring simple preparations that can sit alongside aromatherapy work.
