How to become qualified

Take our Professional Diploma Course with one of our Clinically Accredited Schools.

Students have their own membership category until they have passed all aspects of the Diploma and can use MIFPA after their names. As a Full Member of the IFPA with MIFPA after your name and our certificate on your wall, you make it clear to clients and other health workers that you have trained and practise to the highest proficiency. You are a Professional Clinical Aromatherapist supported and governed by the IFPA and eligible to register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the UK voluntary regulating body.

As a MIFPA you can take an active role in the running of our organisation by voting at the AGM and network with your peers at Regional Group meetings and Conferences. MIFPAs can take a break from practise or retire, and become a Non-Practising IFPA Member at a reduced membership rate, while maintaining many benefits.

Qualified Therapists Can Upgrade to MIFPA

Already qualified therapists (ITEC or other qualifications) can apply to upgrade to a MIFPA. Your qualifications and experience will be assessed by one of our Accredited Tutors. You may be able to join immediately as a full Member, or any further training you require to meet our Standards will be discussed with you. As there are many courses in aromatherapy available with different levels of training, we treat each upgrade applicant individually.

You will have the same benefits as MIFPAs who have trained at one of our accredited schools, and have the same commitments: Adherence to our Code of Practice, undertake regular CPD and have suitable practitioner insurance.
