Membership will be made up from a range of categories:

The IFPA recognizes the standard of training required for prior membership of the RQA & ISPA and has combined the requirements and expectations from the founding organisations educational programmes into the IFPA syllabus. Full membership is available to all who have completed and passed RQA & ISPA courses. However those returning to aromatherapy after a sabbatical should note that proof of CPD completed in the intervening years may be required.

Applications for Associate membership are welcomed from therapists who have trained with other governing bodies. After completing an appraisal, which may stipulate some further developmental study requirements along with evidence of CPD, they will become eligible for full membership.

Annual renewal of all memberships to the IFPA will take place on 1 April each year. We have an Annual General Meeting and Conference in October of each year; Conferences will also be open to non-members. IFPA also produce a quarterly professional journal relevant to aromatherapists practising throughout the world, together with a regular IFPA update newsletter designed to keep members fully informed of events and developments.

Benefits of membership include a comprehensive insurance package and national discount schemes, ranging from advantageous holiday discounts with the IFPA Travel Club through to discounted subscription rate for the IJA
.
