Botanica 2016

September 2, 2016 @ 9:00 am - September 5, 2016 @ 5:00 pm

What has been a long-time dream of bringing together therapists, scientists, educators and those passionate about herbal medicine and clinical aromatherapy began coming true in 2012. Building on its resounding success that year and again in 2014, we are now ready to welcome you to the next botanica experience!

IFPA PROMO

As a professional aromatherapist and fellow of the IFPA, I would like to share with you my dream about bringing together professional aromatherapists and plant practitioners from all around the world! My dream involves organising and hosting an international event that combines a rich experience of peer sharing with excellent education, networking, business opportunities and conviviality.

This dream began in 2010 when I started planning for botanica2012, an international conference of clinical aromatherapy and plant therapeutics. The success of botanica2012 (Dublin) which welcomed therapists from around the world led us on to botanica2014 (Dublin) and to botanica2016 which this year is taking place in the UK for the first time: at the University of Sussex, Brighton, England the 2-5th September.

The IFPA has been extremely supportive of botanica since my dream began and for 2016, IFPA are not only media sponsors for the event but also will be attending with a trade stand to connect with participants and to represent your excellent organisation which is so respected worldwide.

Botanica transcends membership organisations and allegiances; in fact this is one of its unique hallmarks. So I am deeply touched by, and thankful for the IFPA’s continued support along with that of other international associations as it means my dream of creating connections and unity between practitioners irrespective of their main member organisation is not only possible but is also manifest!

I sincerely believe that if you are a professional aromatherapist and are committed to extending your knowledge and skills by learning from experts from around the globe, botanica2016 is not to be missed! There is no other international conference event of this kind in the English speaking world. What’s more, your certificate of attendance can be used as evidence of continuing professional development.

With each event, our botanica community grows…we have more practitioners and more countries represented; to date, for botanica2016 we have over 40 countries represented amongst our participants and speakers! I would love you to join us to celebrate this diversity and unique experience.

Key highlights of the event include: Three days of conference with expert speakers from different countries The opportunity to connect directly with remarkable small scale distillers from Crete, Somaliland and the USA Three days of busy trade show where you can connect with producers, companies, suppliers, products and associations from around the world One day of post conference workshops spanning a wide range of subjects A very special welcome herbal cocktail evening to open the event as well as surprise aromatherapy guests A grand gala dinner with live music at the iconic Grand Hotel on the Brighton seafront Reasonably priced on campus accommodation that helps you keep networking even outside of the conference hours!

I sincerely hope to welcome you to the University of Sussex in September for botanica2016 and thank you again to IFPA for your most welcome professional support.

With warmest regards, Rhiannon Lewis FIFPA
