Re: Charity Commission Appeal
It is with great pleasure that I can now inform you that our name, the IFPA, will NOT now have to be changed.
On the 2nd June 2006 the Charity Commission advised the IFPA, via our solicitors, that we do not now have to change our name. This followed the IFPA’s appeal against the October 2005 direction made by the Charity Commission, requiring it to change its name. This was as a result of an investigation following a complaint that our name (the IFPA) was causing confusion to the public. The Charity Commission concluded that “the decision was not properly made and the direction is discharged”.
I would like to thank you on behalf of the IFPA Council for your support and continued membership during the difficult times when we were uncertain of our future regarding our name.
Yours sincerely
Fran Rawlings
Chair IFPA
