Hello,

I’m Sasha Cunningham, I have taken over from Yvonne as Regional Groups Co-ordinator. I am very much enjoying the role.

My first career was in residential social work working with adults with learning disabilities. I trained in aromatherapy in 1991 and went on to complete my BSc degree in Complementary Therapies (Aromatherapy) in 2003 at Napier University, Edinburgh.

A lot of my work as an aromatherapist has involved working with adults with learning disabilities, multiple disabilities or those with physical disabilities. I have also worked for a number of years with women from ethnic minorities with a mental health problem.

About Regional Groups

Regional groups are involved in various aromatherapy related activities. These include organising regular “get to together days” to discuss matters of Aromatherapy interest (and to swap treatments!); visits to places of interest such as Essential oil growers and producers; assistance with business promotion via attendance at local health exhibitions; inviting guest speakers to meetings; expanding knowledge about related therapies; short courses and holding local CPD days, to help make completing CPD requirements more cost-effective (check with your local group for details.)

And – most importantly - they are a great way of networking and keeping in touch with like minded colleagues in your area.

Regional groups are not just confined to the UK; there are a growing number of regional groups around the world.

To find a group near to you, click on the “group contacts” link on the right of this page or check In Essence for details.

Interested in starting a Regional Groups in your area?

Then please contact me via IFPA office or email regionalchair@ifparoma.org for a starter pack and all the information and help (including a small financial contribution) you may require.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Sasha
